The subject of my photo essay is nature. I took all my photographs here at the school during the day with bright lighting. I selected the school because there is a lot of beautiful plants and flowers that just started to bloom, and the lighting brightened my images. It is important to me because nature makes me feel very relaxed, and calm because of the bright colors. The concept being portrayed is spring and rebirth of a new life. My images captured the narrative or the story of my essay because they properly flow together due to the concept of nature, and they all have bright colors. The order of my photos starts by the front of the school meaning the beginning of the story and ends by the back of the school. The images in the middle are organized by color and the different backgrounds. The viewpoint and angle is downward. The lighting is natural sunlight because they were taken outside during the day. Black and white makes the images look sad, and changes the story line to become negative. I visually unified my photos in my series by the bright colors, and I mixed around the backgrounds by having one image that is close up, and the other ones with the soil being shown. The strongest photo is my fifth image in the series because it is a strong deep red color that is close up. It also has dark shadows that helps create the focal point toward the bright red flower.
